How often should you get a lash fill?
Two weeks, three weeks or longer? Here is how to pick a fill schedule that keeps your lash extensions full in Wilmington, DE.
Your natural lashes shed every day. That is normal, and it is why every set of extensions needs fills. The real question is how long you can wait between visits before your set starts to look thin.
The short answer
Most clients come back every two to three weeks. At two weeks you usually still have 50 to 60 percent of your set, so the fill is quick and the lashes never look sparse. At three weeks you have less left, and the fill takes a little longer.
When to come in sooner
- You sleep on your face or one side, so one eye loses more lashes.
- You work out hard or sweat a lot.
- You use oily skin care or makeup near your eyes.
- It is a season when lashes shed more, often spring and fall.
When you can stretch it
If you clean your lashes a few times a week, brush them daily and keep oil away from your eyes, a three week schedule often works fine. Good aftercare is the cheapest way to make your set last.
What happens if you wait too long
After about four weeks, most of the original extensions have grown out. At that point a fill turns into a new full set, which takes more time in the chair.
