Lash extensions vs a lash lift and tint

Both skip the mascara. One adds length and fullness, the other works with what you already have. Here is how to pick.

If you are tired of curling and coating your lashes every morning, you have two good options. Extensions and a lash lift both fix that problem, but they do it in different ways.

Lash extensions

Extensions are individual synthetic lashes attached to your natural lashes one at a time. They add length, curl and darkness, and they can add real fullness if your natural lashes are sparse. You get a lot of control over the final look, from soft and natural to full glam.

The trade off is upkeep. Your natural lashes shed every day, and the extensions shed with them. Most people come back for a fill every two to three weeks.

Lash lift and tint

A lift curls your own lashes from the root using a gentle solution and a silicone shield. A tint darkens them. The result looks like you curled your lashes and put on mascara, with nothing added.

A lift usually lasts around six to eight weeks as your lashes grow out. There are no fills and nothing to brush out. It is a great fit if your natural lashes already have decent length.

How to choose

  • Want more length or fullness than you naturally have? Extensions.
  • Happy with your length but want curl and color? A lift and tint.
  • Busy schedule and hate appointments? A lift needs fewer visits.
  • Big event coming up? Extensions give the most noticeable change.

Kelsey offers both, so you can ask about each at your consultation and decide in person.
